Produced shortly after the President's death by American sculptor John Rogers, the statue depicts President Lincoln reading a battle map with General Ulysses S. Grant and Secretary of War Edwin Stanton. This particular copy, of plaster, was presented to Robert Lincoln, who had it bronzed and displayed it on his desk in his office. It weighs about 70 pounds.
